Circa 1952-1967 Fender Telecaster Natural Solid Body Electric Guitar, #0686. This Roy Buchanan owned and played Telecaster is comprised of an original 1952 body dated 3-7-52 TG. Maple cap neck with 3 AUG 67B date. Bridge pickup is 1960s with staggered poles and plastic wire (non-original) and neck pickup could be 1950s but leads have been changed. Pots, switch and cap are newer replacements. Tuners are 1967 or later but there are holes from previous Kluson-style tuners. Face of headstock is oversprayed or refinished with reproduction Fender spaghetti logo decal. Pickguard is replaced and the letters "SA" have been carved into the body under the guard. Roy Buchanan's signature has been sprayed clear over it. Body is stripped and clear coated in probably a poly finish. Neck is likely refretted and frets have considerable play wear. Brass nut has been installed but has an early 1950s era string tree. One mounting screw is missing from the bridge. Neck plate serial number is 93089. This instrument comes with considerable provenance of Roy's connection and signed. Condition Good.
